ACT Tutoring

Although the SAT is the most popular college admissions exam in the metropolitan Atlanta area, many students earn higher scores on the ACT.  All US colleges and universities accept the ACT scores.  This exam focuses more closely on academic areas taught in most high school curricula.  Clients who have worked with me have increased their scores significantly.  All tutoring is one on one to provide individual testing strategies to best serve each student.

AP literature and AP language tutoring:  Since English is my area of expertise and I am a certified AP English teacher, I do offer support in both AP English courses. In 2023, each of my AP language and AP literature students earned a 5 on their exams. I am so proud of them! If you need support in either of these courses, please contact me.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring: all ages

High school admissions essay scores and successful years in college often depend on a student's ability to read accurately and quickly.  The reading assignments in high school Advanced Placement classes and in most university classes are long and tedious.  I have been working with students on improving their reading comprehension skills and have observed a correlation between improved reading skills and higher verbal test scores.  As long as students are willing to improve these skills the tutoring has proven to be successful.

Writing: Some students need practice with syntax, vocabulary and organization to improve their writing since mastering writing skill is important for enhanced communication. Often, when working with students I will combine reading with writing skills with positive results.

Science and Math Tutoring:

We also offer tutoring in math and science, including AP for students who need support in these subjects.
